Toyota has officially launched the all-new Crown Estate in Japan, completing its four-model Crown lineup. This latest addition is designed to blend the elegance of a luxury vehicle with the versatility of an SUV, perfect for modern drivers seeking both style and practicality.
A Vehicle Built for Every Lifestyle
The Crown Estate offers a “Mature Active Cabin,” providing ample space, comfort, and advanced features. With both hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain options, the vehicle caters to diverse customer needs, emphasizing Toyota’s commitment to carbon neutrality and sustainable mobility.
- Hybrid and PHEV Models: The Estate RS (PHEV) and Estate Z (HEV) come equipped with a 2.5-liter engine and Toyota’s innovative E-Four system for enhanced driving performance. The PHEV model delivers a BEV-mode driving range of up to 89 km, making it ideal for daily commutes. The vehicle can seamlessly switch between modes, balancing power and efficiency.
- Spacious Design: The car offers up to 1,470 liters of luggage space, with foldable rear seats creating a completely flat 2-meter deck — perfect for car camping or carrying large gear. An all-new pull-out deck chair and table are also included for added convenience during outdoor activities, with chic color tones and the Crown’s emblem for an exclusive touch.
- Stylish Exterior & Premium Interior: The Estate features 21-inch wheels, sleek shoulder lines, and a bumper-integrated front grille for a dynamic presence. Inside, the cabin offers a luxurious experience with vintage-style trim patterns, high-quality materials, and three color themes: Black, Saddle Tan, and PHEV-exclusive Grayish Blue.
Advanced Safety & Tech Features
- Toyota Safety Sense: The Estate is equipped with Toyota’s latest safety suite, including pre-collision systems, lane departure alerts, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
- Connected Services: The vehicle supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, real-time traffic navigation, and remote control via a smartphone app for climate settings, door locking, and battery monitoring.
- Smart Display & Controls: A panoramic infotainment system with voice recognition and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration keeps drivers connected and entertained.
Driving Made Effortless
Toyota fine-tuned the suspension for long-distance comfort, added Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) for agile handling, and introduced Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) to minimize road vibrations. The Rear Comfort Mode optimizes rear-seat ride quality, making every trip relaxing — whether cruising in the city or exploring nature.
Sales & Pricing
The Crown Estate is priced at 8,100,000 yen for the PHEV model and 6,350,000 yen for the HEV model. Through the KINTO subscription service, drivers can enjoy flexible plans that bundle insurance, maintenance, and taxes into a fixed monthly fee, starting at 77,440 yen/month for the HEV and 103,620 yen/month for the PHEV.
Toyota will produce the Crown Estate at its Tsutsumi Plant, with an initial monthly sales target of 1,500 units in Japan.

To celebrate the launch, Toyota is hosting a “Life with CROWNs” event from March 13 to 16 at Azabudai Hills Arena, Tokyo, where visitors can explore the entire Crown lineup, join test drives, and experience the diverse lifestyles the series represents.
