Since its debut in 2020, the Toyota GR Supra GT4 has made a significant impact on the racing world. With over 120 units sold globally, this model has achieved impressive feats, including victories in GT4-series races across 11 countries, more than 500 podium finishes, and class championships in Asia, the United States, and Europe. Building on this success, Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) is set to launch the GR Supra GT4 EVO2, an evolution designed to further enhance performance, reliability, and driver engagement.

Continuous Improvement Driven by Real-World Feedback

Following an updated GR Supra GT4 EVO for the 2023 season, which introduced enhancements in braking, handling, and engine performance, TGR has continued its relentless pursuit of excellence. The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 embodies TGR’s commitment to “driver-first car-making,” incorporating valuable insights gathered from racing teams and drivers around the world. These insights, obtained under the extreme conditions of racing, have been pivotal in refining the EVO2.

Advanced Engineering Enhancements

The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 features several significant upgrades aimed at optimizing performance and driver experience:

  • Enhanced Braking and Handling: ABS maps have been meticulously re-tuned based on extensive driving feedback from circuits in Japan and Europe. This adjustment ensures optimal braking and cornering, tailored to various tire types, wear conditions, and course scenarios.
  • Improved Downshifting and Deceleration Control: A software update has fine-tuned the rev matching, reducing downshifting times and improving deceleration control during braking. This enhancement leads to increased cornering speeds and better overall handling.
  • Optimized Cooling and Cockpit Comfort: The cooling performance of the engine, brakes, and drivetrain has been enhanced, and cockpit temperatures have been optimized. These improvements ensure the car remains manageable and performs at its best even under harsh racing conditions.

Designed for All Skill Levels

The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 is engineered to be approachable not only for seasoned professionals but also for ambitious amateur drivers competing in GT4 races worldwide. By making the car easier to drive and more responsive, TGR aims to empower a broader range of drivers to excel on the track.

Anticipated Debut and Support

The world debut of the GR Supra GT4 EVO2 is slated for January 2025, coinciding with the first round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge during the 24 Hours of Daytona. As the EVO2 makes its mark, TGR has ensured robust support for its customers. Sales and technical support will be managed by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe GmbH in Europe, TRD U.S.A., Inc. in North America, Toyota Customizing and Development Co., Ltd. in Japan and Asia (excluding China), and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in China.
