Bentley Unveils ‘The Black Rose’ Batur with 3D-Printed Rose Gold Details

A masterpiece of bespoke luxury, blending cutting-edge technology with timeless craftsmanship.

(Crewe, 11 March 2025) — Bentley has revealed ‘The Black Rose’, an extraordinary customer-commissioned Batur, showcasing the pinnacle of bespoke automotive artistry. One of just 18 Baturs to be handcrafted by Mulliner, Bentley’s coachbuilding division, this rare coupe features 3D-printed solid rose gold elements — a first in the automotive world — and an exquisite Black Rose exterior paint finish.

A Collaboration of Art and Innovation

The Black Rose is the result of an intensive co-creation journey between the client and Mulliner’s design team. The vehicle’s Black Rose metallic paint was developed exclusively for the customer, paired with a gloss Beluga upper body. The Satin Rose Gold accents on the grille, bonnet line, mirror caps, body kit, and 22” tri-tone wheels create a striking contrast, while carbon ceramic brakes with black calipers emphasize the car’s performance prowess.

Industry-First 3D-Printed Rose Gold Details

Inside, the cabin is a seamless blend of dark luxury materials, highlighted by 18-karat rose gold touchpoints. Bentley’s pioneering Additive Manufacturing (AM) technique adds up to 210 grams of solid gold, crafted by renowned goldsmiths Cooksongold using 100% recycled jewelry. Key elements include:

  • Drive Mode Selector
  • Organ Stop vent controls
  • Steering wheel insert marker

Each gold component is hallmarked in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, ensuring material authenticity, with parts produced in 2022 receiving the Jubilee hallmark to honor Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Art of Commissioning

Bentley’s Mulliner division traces its roots to the Roaring Twenties, crafting bespoke bodies for some of the brand’s most iconic models, including the R-Type Continental (1952). Today, Mulliner offers an exclusive, face-to-face commissioning service, where customers co-design unique features and finishes.

In 2022, Bentley invested £3 million to double its Additive Manufacturing capacity at the Crewe factory, allowing clients to explore limitless possibilities — from aerospace-inspired titanium to sustainable, leather-like textiles made from coffee roasting by-products.

The Batur Legacy

The Batur coupe, limited to 18 units, marked the beginning of Bentley’s design revolution. Its success led to the unveiling of the Batur Convertible in 2024, a W12-powered grand tourer limited to 16 units, continuing Bentley’s legacy of exclusivity and performance.

Bentley’s Commitment to Sustainable Luxury

The use of sustainably sourced raw materials, combined with advanced manufacturing techniques, underscores Bentley’s vision for sustainable luxury. By blending modern innovation with heritage craftsmanship, Bentley continues to push boundaries, offering customers truly one-of-a-kind vehicles.

  1. Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any recommendations for rookie blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.
