Supersports: The Most Driver-Focused Bentley Ever

Supersports: The Most Driver-Focused Bentley Ever

Bentley Motors has revived the legendary Supersports nameplate, marking 100 years since the first Bentley “Super Sports” model was introduced in 1925. The new Supersports becomes only the fourth Supersports model in Bentley’s history and is positioned as the most driver-focused Continental GT ever produced.

Developed with a clear emphasis on driver engagement, the new Supersports introduces rear-wheel drive and a sub-two-tonne kerb weight to the Continental GT platform for the first time. Production will be strictly limited to 500 individually numbered examples, reinforcing its exclusivity.

Pure Performance Focus

At the heart of the new Supersports is a non-hybrid, twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, producing 666 PS (657 bhp) and 800 Nm of torque. Power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, marking the first rear-wheel-drive Continental GT road car.

The Supersports accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 310 km/h, subject to final homologation. Bentley states that the focus is not outright speed, but maximum driver involvement and dynamic performance.

Chassis, Handling and Dynamics

Significant engineering changes have resulted in a major uplift in lateral performance, with the Supersports capable of generating up to 1.3g. Key technical highlights include:

  • Carbon ceramic braking system
  • 22-inch lightweight forged wheels developed with Manthey Racing
  • Optional Pirelli Trofeo RS performance tyres
  • Electronically controlled limited-slip differential (eLSD)
  • Rear-wheel steering and recalibrated ESC systems

Bentley engineers have also developed three new drive modes — Touring, Bentley and Sport — each offering a progressively sharper response for steering, suspension, throttle and gearbox behaviour.

Most Purposeful Continental GT Design

The exterior design of the Supersports reflects its performance intent, featuring extensive aerodynamic modifications that generate over 300 kg more downforce than a Continental GT Speed. Key elements include:

  • Bentley’s largest-ever front splitter
  • Carbon fibre dive planes and side sills
  • Fixed rear wing and rear diffuser
  • Carbon fibre roof panel to lower the centre of gravity

These changes make the Supersports the most aerodynamically aggressive road-going Bentley to date.

Two-Seat, Driver-Focused Cabin

Inside, the Supersports adopts a two-seat-only layout, replacing the rear cabin with a lightweight carbon fibre structure. New sports seats are positioned lower in the car and feature increased lateral support, reinforcing the vehicle’s driver-centric philosophy.

The interior combines leather, Dinamica and carbon fibre, with Supersports badging and individually numbered plaques highlighting the car’s limited status. Customers can choose from mono-tone, duo-tone or tri-tone interior colour schemes, along with a wide range of bespoke options via Bentley’s personalisation division.

A Name with Heritage

The Supersports name originates from Bentley’s first “Super Sports” model introduced in 1925, which became the brand’s first car capable of exceeding 100 mph. The name was later revived in 2009 and 2017 for high-performance Continental GT variants, each defining the pinnacle of Bentley performance for its era.

The latest Supersports continues this lineage with a renewed focus on lightweight construction, rear-wheel drive and driver engagement, rather than outright luxury.

Production and Availability

Orders for the new Supersports are scheduled to open in March 2026, with production beginning in Q4 2026 and first deliveries expected in early 2027. Availability will be limited to selected global markets.

Vehicle specifications and emissions data will be confirmed closer to production.
